Flavia Hotel

We just left an incredible stay at Flavia. Contrary to some other reviews that left me a bit hesitant to book, the rooms were impeccable, extremely gorgeous with AC, the service was fantastic, especially at the restaurant and though the food there isn’t the best you’ll find in Oaxaca, we did enjoy the meals we had there. We ran into a couple of hiccups during our stay but the staff was always willing to help and truly did their best. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and the Flavia is up there with the better of them.

Had an amazing stay at the flavia hotel. Firstly, the employees were more than hospitable. Extremely welcoming the second you arive, very helpful with tourists information, and accommodating. We ate at the restaurant on site a few times food was good, and all the waiters were great, they have amazing cocktails paired with a fantastic view. It was a perfect stay in my opinion because you're up in the hills away from the central noise, but close enough to easily make it into town. I would absolutely stay again!

Absolutely loved my stay here. The staff is incredible and the property is stellar. It's so much more serene and quieter than Centro. I loved the food too.

Flavia is more than a hotel, it is a museum. If you are an art lover, you will really appreciate this hotel. The architecture is stunning. My husband and I checked in late on a Friday night and the guy at the front desk (wish I remembered his name) was amazing. You could tell he was passionate about the hotel and even with us checking in so late, was kind enough to give us a mini tour. The Kundavi suite is stunning and huge. The views from the room are incredible, as they are throughout the whole property. Can't recommend Flavia enough! If you are planning a trip to Oaxaca, make sure to plan at least one night here.

Our Flavia experience was truly incredible. The bunker room with a captivating stone bathtub in the middle, was both unique and stunning. Each room having its own welcome drink, ours was not only delish but set the perfect tone. The hotel's ambiance felt like a museum, and the terrace showcased a breathtaking view of Oaxaca. The attentive staff and welcoming atmosphere further enriched this unique and museum-like stay. Highly recommended!

We just wanted to take a moment to say how beautiful our stay at Flavia was. Upon arrival the staff was friendly helping us with luggage to our room while we enjoyed a drink and caught up overlooking Oaxaca from this breathtaking view. This space is incredibly gorgeous, filled with an amazing art collection and curated to perfection from the furniture, statues, garden and paintings. We would like to praise the staff for their kindness and give special thanks to our art guide Rafael. He truly took our stay to the next level with his passion for the art and knowledge of the property. His inspiration from the Flavia showed and all of our many questions answered with great ease. Hotel Flavia in Oaxaca is a gem perched at the city’s highest point, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The design is elegant, and the on-site Delusions restaurant is a true culinary experience—creative, flavorful, and unforgettable. A peaceful, luxurious escape above the city.

NO SOUND PROOFING — Sleepless Nights I stayed 5 nights, and unfortunately, it included many sleepless nights. There is no soundproofing from doors, windows, or the balcony. You can hear everything happening in the hotel and outside — footsteps, dogs barking nonstop all night, and even fireworks at 4 AM that made me jump out of bed. This was very disappointing and unexpected from a high-end hotel. The view was spectacular, and the rooms were very clean with excellent room service. However, the food at the restaurant could be better, especially considering the high prices. The staff was helpful when I asked for something, but overall, they could benefit from more professionalism and training in hospitality. The location is about 20–30 minutes from downtown, which we already knew and expected, so that was fine. Management mentioned they are planning to improve the soundproofing in the future. Honestly, they need to — otherwise, I can’t imagine guests returning once they read reviews about these noise issues.
